I have 9 years industry experience as a developer and have started this blog for personal projects. It will probably consist mostly of Kaggle competitons, reflections on what I've learnt from previous employment, and anything new I learn along the way. Language focus will be on Python and JavaScript.

Across the past two years I have been focusing on many interests outside of my professional life. The following are a few of the new talents I have acquired ;)

• Reading additional alphabets:
  • Cyrillic
  • Thai
  • Korean
  • Hiragana and Katakana (knew already but I've been brushing up again)
• Working on existing knowledge of languages as well as learning new:
  • French (my strongest, can now watch TV shows and understand roughly)
  • Spanish (my teacher says I can speak better than her 2-year old)
  • Dutch (low level knowledge but it did help me pick up Bahasa Indonesia while in Bali)
  • Bulgarian (very difficult, very poor level of knowledge but can read)
  • Vietnamese (I can order coffee and understand a smattering of words in the North only)
• Completed online courses in introductory Linguistics and discovered a new passion
• Playing with NLP projects inspired by online courses, Kaggle competitions, used new(ish) GCP TPU's until I ran out of free credits
• Learnt Node.js, created this blog generator, built a few React sample apps, learnt to use MongoDB and mongoose, other related tech
• Knitting and crochet
• Learnt to ride a manual motorbike and plan on getting an official license
• Art IRL and on iPad (plus an amalgamation of other information relating to design and aesthetics)
• Powerlifting, top achievement being to barbell squat my bodyweight at the time (67.5kg)
• Culling my belongings to live a minimalist lifestyle out of a suitcase
